Welcome to our WES Library

We are excited to be transitioning to a Makerspace Library!  We have already added Ozobots, Dash robots, Virtual Reality, and a Lego Wall.  Watch us grow!

Thanks so much for your support!

The library is open from 7:40 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I am thrilled to begin my third year teaching library at Whiltesville Elementary!  I love this community, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with each of your children.

Although my husband was raised in this area, I am originally from Texas.  While living there I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Texas A&M Commerce and taught 4th and 5th grades.  I relocated to South Carolina 24 years ago, and I have taught in Berkeley County since then.  I earned my Masters of Information & Library Science from the University of South Carolina 15 years ago, and I switched from the regular classroom to the library media center at that time.

In my opinion, reading is the most important skill that we teach children in school, and I consider myself lucky to be able to spread the love of reading with students on a daily basis.
