Use this form as a way to request a meeting with Mr. Bell, Mrs. Galati, or Mrs. Kirkland. In addition to a scheduling request or other concerns, you can request help or guidance for social-emotional needs. You can also suggest help or guidance for a peer or friend. Social-emotional needs include but are not limited to: stress management, anxiety, social insecurities, emotional concerns or dangers, and thoughts or behaviors relating to physical harm of self or others.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be entering my seventh year as the School Counseling Director at Marrington Middle School of the Arts.

This is my 13th year working as a school counselor in Berkeley County School District and my 15th year as a school counselor overall. I previously spent three years at Westview Middle School, two years at Northwest High School in Canal Fulton, Ohio, and three years at Berkeley Alternative.

Jessica Galati

Career Specialist

Mrs. Jessica Galati

Mrs. Jessica Galati has been a Career Specialist in the Marrington and Hanahan schools since 2017 and conducts classroom career guidance lessons and the career lunch and learn program. Her background includes 10 years in the United States Navy, where she worked as a law enforcement officer and career counselor. She also worked for the State of South Carolina’s Department of Employment and Workforce for two years as an Employment Services Supervisor/Recruiter and specialized in workforce development and in addition, she worked for a nonprofit organization called Palmetto Youth Connections as a Career Coach for 4 years, working specifically with 17-24 year olds in Berkeley County on enhancing their education and career readiness skills. She is originally from upstate New York, but has lived in the low country for 14 years now, with her husband and son.

She has her Graduate Certification in Human Resource Management from Walden University, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Strayer University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison State University and is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. Mrs. Galati is an award winner for career guidance at the state and regional levels and was a finalist at the national level in 2019.
